Yeah, but we do have some non-xeons in the desktop which support ECC on the board, just a few cases. Learned this building my last FreeNAS. I wouldnt believe a laptop option would be out there but wanted to check.
It's a heard spec to just Google. Not a lot of info on them because yeah, not that many out there in the wild.
What else can I do to protect myself from corrupted databases. I backup daily, but sometimes I go so far and then bam.. run into inissue that the repair can't fix.
Edt: it's never saved files and always happening when working in the databases. Leading to the belief that ECC RAM might help my issue.

Doesn't look like the XEON one comes with ECC DDR4 sticks from the shop but I'll just pick up a few.
This isn't that bad of an option. Everyone I've looked at was a damn 17". 15.4 is bad enough going through TSA, fckk 17".
