Neil Blomkamp's new movie is supposed to be a direct sequel. Hicks is still alive and Newt is now an adult. I don't know if this means its a different timeline from Alien 3 or alternate dimension or whatever though.

The new sequel nukes the rest of the movies except for the first.
So technically this new one will be the Proper Aliens 2.

Bit slow on this. They aren't letting Blomkamp do a movie anymore and Ridley Scott's movie will be called Alien Covenant
