I wanted to get everyones opinion. This team has a lot of skilled players but the difference between Alabama and LSU has been in the trenches. Do we have the dogs to hang with them finally?

Just worried about our O-line against their D-line.

The question has never been CAN we- it has been WILL we?

Will our team be prepared?
WIll our team be ready?
Will we have the right game plan?
Will we think out of the box?
Will we - well you get the idea

Our players are as good as theirs, our coaches can compete- but will we plan, prepare and play smart? or will we still think we can out muscle and out last every team on the face of the earth all season long?

Will we?

This is discussed everyday on this board.. The overwhelming majority of 'fans' here will tell you no, we can't

Confident in our D-Line. But I respect their D-Line too. Will be a true wall on the field.

No.

They are perfectly designed to stop an offense like ours.

Change our philosophy with an Ohio State, or Clemson, or shite even an Ole Miss or Tennessee and I believe we beat them regularly with our players.

We make it impossibly hard on our players to be successful with the type of offense that we run. Especially against a defense like Alabama.

You misspelled QB development and ability/inability to get the TEs and RBs in the passing game

Both teams have been building their programs to beat each other ever since Saban got to Bama.LSU has had their chances to keep the series close while being out recruited and outplayed at QB.
Miles understands that he must beat Bama or the championship is lost. He does his damnest to hold them off his recruits and is all in during the two weeks prepaing for them. Its a tough task but he plays to win the Natl title each yr which means hes has to beat bama. Thats job 1 during season.
But the #1 recruiting classes have just been too much to keep up with yr in and yr out especially the guys that they continually get on the interior line. There were a few of their recruiting classes that were just sick. Ohio State is putting one together this yr.
This is Miles' best team on paper since 2012.But winning the west next yr is still a daunting task.
But Im ready to see the LSU defense intimidate others and see competent QB play once again. If that happens i can live with the results. Sometimes the football gods smile on you and sometimes they dont. See ohio state the past 2 years.

They can but they are gonna need more help from the offense. You can't let Bama dominate time of possession or it's going to be ugly in the 2nd half.

I def. think we can on both sides of the ball this year.
Last year our d line was small and inexperienced. Our O line had their asses whipped from the first snap because Bama didn't have to worry about a passing threat. They only had to do run blitzes and after about a half of that, our o line was done for.

I think we can hang with anyone in the country, the better question is will we. I don't think LSU ever really lacked in the talent department the past few year.

Every year we get hopeful and say "Oh Bama lost this and that, we'll easily dominate this time around" and every time it's the same. A'Shawn and Jarran made Pocic their bitch play in and play out.

The major problem is that we play to Alabama's strengths. We don't spread the ball out or use our speed, any team that goes spread on Alabama gives them a hard time and instead we just line up our I form and run right into their throats.

Absolutely. We have always have been unless you want to keep running a RB into an 8 men front. The front 5 can only block ...5.
