I personally would never buy an all in one desktop.
For example, if the display goes bad, instead of replacing the monitor you are replacing the whole desktop.

Valid concern.
But if you figure a good monitor is minimum $170, and more than likely around $200-250, you've covered the cost of repair of an iMac screen.
The only downside is the inconvenience of having to bring it in for repair.
