It blows my mind that they havent retired his jersey.
I hope they do it in 2017 vs Florida for 20th anniversary granted that game was the Herb Tyler show.

I agree it is a shame ,a lot of it is because he didnt get his due at boston he carried the patriots from 20 to 20 then a taller receiver or a bigger back would get the credit for the touch downs .Belechek does not praise any body he is scared they want more money !

don't think he meets the requirements
"To have a jersey retired at LSU, an athlete must have completed intercollegiate competition for LSU a minimum of five years prior to nomination. Athletes must have demonstrated truly unusual and outstanding accomplishments, exceeding and in addition to all criteria used for Hall of Fame selection. The athletic performance must be considered unique, such as winning of a Heisman Trophy or National Player of the Year award, and should be based on the total LSU career. Athletes may also be considered for making dramatic impact on the popularity of his or her sport or for significant participation in positive change in LSU Athletics. Nominees must have a unanimous vote of support from the Hall of Fame committee."
I guess you could make an argument for him making a dramatic impact on the popularity of the sport because him coming in 1995 made a huge impact on that signing class and a rejuvenation of the program. But other than that, and as great as he was, he never won any significant awards. He was an AA in 1996 as an AP player and All SEC 3 Times. But he never won SEC POY, the Doak Walker, etc. Faulk is my favorite Tiger of all-time but I think our pretty strict requirements for retiring jerseys will keep him out.
