I guess you'll have to make that decision for yourself. I spent over a year overseas. Before you say subtle brag, I have been in the "real world" now since about 2010 and have struggled. Going into an office everyday absolutely sucks. If you've had your kids, a good job lined up, and are ready for the boring life then go ahead and get out of it. I've been reached out to several times by military friends and am strongly considering going into contracting.
