Bushmaster:
I'm curious, but you obviously don't owe me any answers. Reply, if you're willing. If not, that's okay too.
A couple of the comments I've read say you've deployed "over a dozen" and "14 times". You are, or were, Army, correct? How many deployments did you make into war zones with the military and how many were as an employee/contractor with security firms hired by the DoD, State Dept or OGA?

I imagine that line of work gets in a mans blood. You have to be missing the rush that comes with what you do. I'm sure life is pretty boring here in the states after doing that over there. Hard choice for you I bet

Sure, but the ones I know who went to war don't spout off on internet forums about how awesome they are for it.
What about the ones that spout off on forums about all the people they know who did this or that?

He was a Marine but I think all of his trips were as a contractor. I think he got out before we invaded Iraq.
Don't quote me on that.

Saw your edit.
i fyou want to do something significantly less dangerous, there are groups of people with similar skills that hunt poachers in Africa to protect rhinos and elephants. tehy are well funded by US millionaires and billionaires.

I'm not trying to take anyone down.
For a conventional military unit, twelve or fourteen deployments since late 2001 seems like a shitload. There are probably some Special Forces teams that have gone that many times. Your secret squirrel units attached to JSOC have surely gone that many times. Maybe some Civil Affairs or MP units made double digit deployments to Iraq.
Maybe Bush is a Ranger attached to JSOC. I doubt he's TF Green, because those guys seem to keep pretty quiet. Maybe I'm mistaken, and he's not Army at all (or works for some OGA folks).

If accurate, your explanation makes more sense than having been sent over a dozen times.

Most all of my trips overseas were with a couple different contractors. Recently stopped a few years ago.
Like I said earlier, I wasn't trying to come across as a hardass or anything. I drink a few too many sometimes and post stuff that I probably wouldn't have if sober.
I am going to stay put and enjoy my life in the middle of BFE.
