The UM coaching job is already being made a mockery of by the media bashing of Miles and the so-called "behind the scenes discussions between UM and Miles".

I personally have no problem with Miles talking with UM to "help them" with finding the right person for the job.....but, it doesn't quell the gossip, such as ESPN now claiming that they're "right" because they're leaving the door open for 2009......well, that could be the case if UM doesn't move on quickly and hire a big-time coach that they're willing to commit huge dollars to under a long-term contract.

Why isn't UM talking to kirk ferentz, I mean he knows the conference and in the past 8-10 years more often than not they have been a solid team.

I hope we don't have to go through this stuff every year like we did with saban, gets really old.

Lloyd Carr wasn't a big name guy. I wouldn't expect UM to hire a big name guy.

If they were going to hire an interim coach to keep the seat warm for Miles, they could have done that weeks ago and avoided all of the media scrutiny.

a big name coach is not always the answer okie. michigan is trying to save face an avoid more embarassment. the media is the trying force behind this cluster frick. espn has turned into tabloid media and they need to be called out for the piss poor sports journalism in regards to this story
