Well, until Michigan finds a coach that they really want........and, by the way, time is a-wastin' on them finding one.....then, it's more likely than not that they may end up with a head coach (whether you wanna call him "interim" or not is your call)who isn't what they want on a long-term basis.

Sure, if they could lure a big-name coach like a Saban, Spurrier, etc., then this idea of "interim coach" would be wrong, because few coaches of that magnitude would take a short-term contract....remember, 1-2 year interim HC contracts happen all the time, even in the NFL.

Wow, so Saban or Spurrier would be "long-term".

Saban has never stayed anywhere for more than five years and Spurrier is 62 years old.

It is obvious you are throwing shite at a wall hoping something sticks.

Regardless of your opinion of the UM coaching search, it isn't in UM's best interst to make a hire with a "short-term" mentality, and I guarantee you they won't.

michigan does not have a history of making big splashes when they have to hire a coach. this school sells there job on the name and they want tarnish there name by hiring a coach on a interm basis. there getting hammered now by there non successful coaching search. do you think these people are that stupid to make a mockery out of the um coaching position

Further, I would agree with you that Michigan would never hire someone that they thought would take their program further downhill.....but, a good nationally reputable Offensive Coordinator or Defensive Coordinator could definitely fill that job admirably for a couple of years, which would then give Michigan more options than just Miles, yet keep the door open for negotiations wih him later by seeking his advice on "who that coach should be now".

Remember, my thread started with the words "The ONLY fuel left in ......GOSSIP TANK".....just as it implies.....GOSSIP!! I personally want Miles to stay, but the gossip mill will continue until he makes it clear that he's here for more than just next year.
