Rumors for a while said this would be a hybrid system so I believe so. There was a rumor a while back that the handheld would release first and the tv box after. This tv box could have some processing power that possibly offloads things like weather that isn't dependent on latency.

True, but I want them to say something to the effect of "This is the future of Nintendo." Not this third pillar stuff that they said with the DS, which quickly became the First pillar ( if you remember). They announced the DS as the "third pillar" in the company, that Gameboy development would not stall, and Nintendo would make all three. The gameboy quickly faded, for obvious. I just want to know that they are moving beyond true consoles for sure.

I was also thinking this:

What if the TV box comes with a 1 TB drive or something, can use media apps and other tools. The unit itself has a slot for a cartridge and a slot for a 256 GB SD Card (maybe later being larger)?

If this thing could Sync games and saves as you plug and unplug it in, that could be cool. COULD. Move games over easily, select my mobile accessible games, etc. Streaming from a powered on console? That would be cool. I'd benefit from a tablet like device that's more powerful than the Wii U with some good mobility included (Kindle, Netflix, etc. on the go).It would have to be mega powerful compared to current tablets and NOT a battery hog though, and be able to replace a tablet device.

Tablet devices have cooled because they are too specific in use. Can't do as much as a laptop, have become heavy. Aren't small like mobile devices. If you had a legit gaming platform on top of one, it MIGHT work.

On the flipside, most companies make really crappy versions of their games on Mobile Devices, Fifa, ports like Dead Space, etc. Nintendo could be chasing the Mobile App versions of games. If the store was good enough, and the unit efficient enough it COULD work. Although lots of those games are crappy. There are some great RPG's on mobile though, and a ton of ports.

There are a ton of questions. I always want to trust Nintendo, but as always, this thing could be super unique and succeed....or it could absolutely fail. There are some big bets to make.
