I work in film and I agree with what you did, except you shouldn't have given in and left. It's part of my job to ask people not to take pictures while we're shooting and whatnot, and I'd never be rude because in the end, I can't legally prevent you from taking pics on a public street, and we're just making a fricking movie. I ask politely and if someone doesn't want to, I tell production the person is not going to stop and there's nothing more I can do about it.

I admire you for being this way but a lot of people in your industry don't think or act that way. On more than one occasion I have happened upon a movie shoot and somebody sees my camera and starts yelling "no pictures" !
Once there was a cop nearby and I looked at him and we both just shook our heads.
