They've succeeded because now that the movie isn't doing well and will break even/barely make a profit, they have a scapegoat by saying it's not the shitty reboot's fault...its societies fault for not "accepting" a movie with an all female cast

They can say whatever they want, they're going to be hurting in the bank account department, and that's the only place they care about. Having a scapegoat doesn't give them money.
