Since you are downtown, Stroubes, which is right behind Tsunami, is a decent place to check out.
Look up Jubans and Ginos... Both good places to eat. Sammy's is pretty good as well.
Go walk around the LSU campus. There are several places to eat right before the north gates on highland.
There is a strip club off of college, its the Penthouse Club. Mall of La is on Bluebonnet. Perkins Rowe on the corner of Perkins and bluebonnet. There is a waterpark on Highland right off the exit of the interstate.

Thanks OweO, thats the kind of feedback I was looking for. Prob going to check out Varsity, since I've heard so much about it.
