Actually, when I went to see the first Star Trek reboot, I hated the shite out of it. It pissed me off how everything got changed around. Then . . . it kinda grew on me and I changed my mind. The second one, I really wanted to like it but was kinda disappointed. I had not really cared about the latest one until now.

I haven't hated any of the new Star Trek films. I think the only original film I don't like is Generations.

With the new ones, I loved Star Trek 09. When it came out, I loved Into Darkness. It doesn't hold up as well on repeat viewings but it's still a fun movie.

All in all, I'm not sure "Star Trek" works as a film franchise. You can make action movies set in the Star Trek universe, which have been what pretty much all the films aside from TMP have been, but this is a franchise that is best done justice on the small screen.
