Check this "GUMPAHOLIC" out. Saban has everyone dreaming the dream year in and year out. Congrats to their fan base. LSU has been on the Tide heels for years - mainly b/c of QB play down the stretch being atrocious for our Tigers. Here's to a different script in 2016. Geaux Tigers!

More specifically my point for those who like the phrase "Too Long/Did Not Read" here's the passage that should annoy Brandon Harris specifically:
"And can anyone honestly say at this point that Bama’s QB-TBD is going to be worse than Brandon Harris?"

That right there is MOTIVATION! He has talent and now has some experience. Is that enough? Will he make the leap to being an elite QB in the SEC?

READ more ..... POST less
(Just kidding - good catch) The GUMPSTER I'm referencing mentions in his "analysis" that 'Bama will rule the west again - mainly b/c LSU QB play has been mediocre at best while 'Bama QB play has been elite in big games. Cannot argue that point.

If you gave me a choice right now between Bama's qb-tbd and Harris, I'd have to go with Bama's qb-tbd.

Look at the job Lane Kiffen + Saban's system did the last two years. Then compare that to Les Miles the last forever.

If it's a Bama person I truly don't care to even give them the read

Then follow your intuition and go root foe Bama and their qb-tbd over our QB Brandon Harris. And stop disrespecting our guy on your way out. When Brandon lights up the SEC this year, don't come crawling back here claiming you knew all along.

And if you did that, Harris would in contention for All-SEC at Bama and the qb-tbd would be another in the line of "misses" for LSU.

Do you really think Harris is physically a significantly worse QB than Coker, Simms, McElroy and maybe McCarron? I don't. Kiffen finds ways to game plan to his QB's strengths and makes things as easy as possible on them. Miles has one approach and tries to jam his QB into that approach, results be damned!

Roughly eight years of consistently weak QB play (with 5 different starting QBs during that time) is not an accident or "bad luck." It's a trend with only one common denominator. Harris could be great if he was allowed to be great and put in the best position to succeed for what he does best as a QB. Sadly, when the LSU QB's job is primarily "not to frick up" rather than to be one of the focal points of a successful offense, you get stuck with inconsistent play.

I like Harris. I think he could be very good. But you have to give him his best chance to succeed.

Coker was a 5th year QB
Sims was a 5th year QB
McElroy was a 4th year QB before he played at Bama
McCarron was a RS Soph when he started.

Toss a 1st or 2nd year guy in and let's see how he plays at Bama.

Ohh.. They did that vs Ole Miss LY instead of Coker and it's one of the main reasons why they lost.

Well, he was.. He started at QB and switched in his 4th year to RB, but switched back to QB in his 5th year.

My message was all of Alabama's last 4 QBs were on campus for a minimum of two years before starting. Coker transferred in and rode the bench behind Sims before starting his Senior year.

McCarron was the only QB less than 4 years out of HS, who started, and he was in his 3rd year.

True. Ive been saying it all along, Bama finally has real inexperience at QB, lost a good bit to the draft and we didnt. Finally the shoe is on the other foot this year. Everything isnt all on QB play like some may say/think. Last year our defense was terrible at times and it was a testament to that terrible Coach Steele and that crapp zone read and react scheme. This team will respond so much better to the Aranda Man to Man attacking scheme. We have plenty of fire power on offense, im truly not worried at all about our offense. DEFENSE wins you championships in this league, and this year WE HAVE THE ELITE DEFENSE!!!

I've given up on motivation being any benefit to LSU. With all the supposed motivation of the last few years, they've done nothing with it. Either they aren't capable of being motivated or being motivated doesn't mean much. In either case, some sportswriter or blogger dissing our team doesn't give me any reason whatsoever to be optimistic or expect the team to respond to it by playing well.

That would be nice. I'll believe it when I see it. For now, if I'm any other coach in the country and I have a choice to face the LSU defense or the Alabama defense, I'm going to choose LSU.
