Why would they need an education if they don't intend on ever holding a job? A job is not needed, so why would they want one? An education is needed for a job, but if one doesn't need a job, why would they need education?

their past has shaped who they now are. part of why they are what they are is dating back to their lack of education due to their lack of parents having their lack of education. Its all cyclical. Yes parents now don't give a shite bout their kids education,... but what's caused that?

The fact that the government gives them the option of making a living off of entitlements without working. Their parents never had to hold down a career. They may have never worked a job in their life. They don't work, and thus never needed an education to get work. Therefor, they don't value education because it produced no value for them. Jeez, how dense are you?

If they didn't have the option of not working, they would work. If they had to work, they would value education so they could get better jobs. Since they'd see the value of education (even if they themselves didn't when they were younger), they would pass that value on to their kids.

This isn't rocket science. They have the option not to work, so they don't. Because they don't need to work, they don't need an education.
