K. That's why almost every player they signed this offseason is a good defender than can switch on multiple positions. They clearly traded Offense for Defense this offseason, and good system defenders as well.

Which is actually why this pisses me off. They finally did something to impress me. I was excited about this team as well as the hope that maybe they had figured out offense isn't the problem. Jones not only really hurts the defense. It also signals that maybe we aren't serious about replacing our defensive black holes(Gordon/Ryno) with serviceable defenders. We are now replacing Ryno with literally the only player(besides Derrick Williams) almost as bad as him at defense.

Also PER is not just an offensive stat. It includes field goals, free throws, 3-pointers, assists, rebounds, blocks and steals, missed shots, turnovers and personal fouls.

Or MAYBE we are using a minimum to throw a bone to an important agent and star player. Jones is a PF, and at best he'd probably be listed on the depth chart as 3rd behind AD and Hill when they go small ball. You are WAY overreacting to a minimal signing.

You're being crazy.

Again, he is on a 1 year MINIMUM contract. He is not going to get the minutes you are expecting. If he does, it is because he's playing well.

AD takes up minutes at PF. Hill will play a LOT of small ball 4 for us. DC will get some minutes at 4 here and there. While Diallo will have a limited role, they are going to get him in some games here and there for energy and hustle (and experience), so he will get minutes. shite, Ajinca could get some minutes here and there at 4 if they go big.

He's just not going to get big minutes unless he is playing well. His career Defensive rating isn't even that bad, as bad as he was last year.
