We have more players playing for big clubs than ever before. Ya'll are mocking the whole "up and coming" thing but we've never had anywhere near this much youth talent before. MLS youth academies started less than 10 years ago, and that is how you will get an elite league. There is a certain player on our national team that will probably be our first "world superstar" in the next few years.

Well we should.

It's been the #1 recreational sport for kids for like forever.

But the fact that we haven't made as much advancement as we should have despite kids playing it since the late 70's says there may be a ceiling.

I watch it, like it...but there is this thing where you feel it will never get our best athletes.

Soccer can one day be #4 but we will need a Ronaldo...or Messi to truly elevate the game and get fans interested.

As I posted before Harris Poll has NFL a clear runaway winner...followed by MLB and College Football.

So American football combined Pro and College combines for 50% of American fans saying this is their favorite sport.

Baseball and Basketball and NASCAR round out the rest.

American football dominates this country Pro and College. It's hard to see how that changes. You have a massively popular Pro league and a massively popular college experience where people think its pro. In fact, we have a long history in this country where college football was more popular.

Idk, but soccer has been pushed so hard forever and progress has been made but it shouldn't have taken this long if America really loved the sport.
