You trot out LeBron, Wade, Chris Paul and Carmelo and name the citizens who have been killed in police shootings but not one Dallas cop is named. More division! More anamosity! Less healing and understanding. What a shame. A great moment to unite but ethnicity was picked over humanity.

How about frick YOU. They said exactly what needs to be said to the audience they needed to reach you dumb shite. While I'm at it, frick YOU to all the people who upvoted this POS post you racist mother frickers. They asked their fellow athletes to give back and help support the infrastructure of the impoverished in their communities. They asked for an end to the violence and hate on both sides. Of course they are going to name the black victims. The people that NEED to hear the message they preached are the communities they are asking for help in changing. They did not condemn the actions of cops. They did not even support the protests. They asked for help, from those who truly have the means to give what is needed, money, role models, and time.

My respect goes out to them for how well that was done.

so why not name the white victims in this?

seriously

that is my main criticism, should the people that NEED to hear the message not know the names of the white victims as well?

shameless pel do you see why society in general is this way towards african americans? I live in west university which is literally the wealthiest per capita city in texas I think. Its got every freaking minority you can think of. My neighbors are all asians, indians, latinos, every race but african americans. Ive lived here my whole life 35 years and there is 1 black guy that I know a few streets away, and of course he has black santa clauses in his yard on christmas, but thats off tangent. What Im saying is at what point do we stop blaming every other culture for being racist that african americans arent succeeding at the same clips and start blaming the african american family for how they're raised?

I dont think these athletes preaching the thug life helps anything. Starting with the fab 5 michigan days where going against the rules and wearing baggy clothes, to getting all tatted up like some of these stars or any other "idol" you want young african americans to idolize. Athletes are indeed big role models for young african americans, it would be nice if they could teach them things like loyalty, honesty, education, not getting tatted up head to toe, and respecting the law. Instead we have guys like lebron who openly support mike brown, eric garner, or whoever else and push the agenda that cops are not your friend. Its ridiculous, obviously bad cops do exist, I dont doubt that but the majority are good people just trying to do a job. Talking back to them or looking the part of a criminal by dressing a certain way, speaking a certain way, or being tatted like a thug doesnt help at all when interacting with a cop. Funny how none of the african americans being shot, sans tamir rice, were quote unquote carlton banks types.

Does that not strike home for you? Cops run ins have all been with so called bad eggs. Mike Brown robbed a store, alton sterling had countless arrests, this guy in minnesota had umpteen violations previously. Its hard to understand their points of view bc I myself am a minority, I stand out like a sore thumb Im 6'7 and ive never had any trouble. Im not black, but im definitely not white. I dress well, dont have tattoos, and dont talk down to cops when I interact with them. Ive never had a problem. Education solves all, and urban youths have no hope if education comes from freaking lebron james and carmelo anthony that much I can guarantee you.
