One customer, who was legally carrying a concealed handgun, followed the robber into the parking lot because he was afraid for the safety of his wife, who was on her way to the Waffle House.

The customer called out to the robber, who turned and pointed the rifle at him, police said. The customer then shot the robber several times.

Ehh, hopefully this CCL guy really did have someone on the way or else he could have legal issues for pursuing the guy and ultimately killing him.

ETA: Apparently Texas law allows you to shoot a thief who is trying to leave the scene, regardless of any fear for your life. Whether or not his wife was coming or the guy turned the gun on him is irrelevant.

At least he didn't shoot him in the back, but personally, I wouldn't have cared if he did. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.

not really. The guy was in the act of a felony act with a weapon that out other peoples lives in danger. The dude could have shot him in the back and been fine.

Also you have the fact that generally speaking unless you're in close quarters, approaching a guy with an AK in a parking lot could turn out badly (just on range alone) for the CCL holder.

Incorrect, you legally have right to shoot someone if they put your life or someone else's life in danger. They teach this in conceal carry training courses. At least this is what the state trooper taught me in the course I took.
