we will just have to agree to disagree. tulane isn't what it was 15 years ago, but it is still a pretty decent program and i don't think a guy with really limited experience should be too upset. riser probably had a better claim to the job.

that said, human nature is to get upset when you feel not wanted. that is why i said i hope he can see it was a rational decision.

What is Jewett's head coaching experience?

I'm not saying Cannizaro was head and shoulders above Jewett...or even that he was a better candidate (obviously Tulane didn't think so). But, he's clearly in the same class.

Tulane turned down Cannizaro. How can that not be personal. And, how could Tulane reasonably expect Cannizaro to give "loyalty" down the road when Tulane passed on him at a time when he was a viable candidate?

Obviously Tulane did what it thinks was best. And, it may have been the right move. But, the Cannizaro option is now gone...as it should be.
