The other problem isn't necessarily on the players, but moreso the media. Yeah, those names he mentioned are some of the best to play the game, but when analysts look at Hall of Fame credentials, what's normally the first question they ask? "Does he have a title?" If he doesn't, it's like they are dropped down a few levels even before being considered.

I can't really think of a name where they likely missed their Hall of Fame bid due to going title-less, but it's still one of the more prominent questions always asked
