The same three that came to mind for me as well. I'm not good with genres so I don't really know what post rock means but I really like these three bands. Russian Circles being my favorite out of the three.

It's really just droning, delay-heavy instrumental rock. There are some post-rock bands with vocals like Mogwai and Sigur Ros, but they are not the norm.

Hell, I just looked at the wikipedia list of post-rock bands and there are some odd inclusions: Mutemath, The Appleseed Cast.

That list did point out a huge one that I didn't see yet: Godspeed You! Black Emperor.

Agreed. Unfortunately they are playing the Spanish Moon the same night Anthrax is at the Varsity...
