Elba is a pretty boy, completely a wrong choice in every aspect for Roland.

I like Elba. He is a wonderful actor and if Roland being white wasn't important to about 3/4 of one of the books in the series, I wouldn't give a damn what race the actor portraying him was. I just fear that, like was said earlier, we are going to end up with a completely different story being told. If that happens, then it is not truly The Dark Tower. I completely understand that some aspects will be changed. Like I highly doubt they will go into detail about what Gasher wanted to do to Jake or will they be able to use Doctor Dooms wielding light sabers as they ride through Mordor but they should stick to the important aspects of the books.

I want Detta to call him a honk mahfah. His reaction can be wtf, because book Roland had no clue what a honk mahfah was anyway.
I expect they PC'd the frick out of that angle though.
