To me, the color of the gunslinger doesn't matter. What I care about is how fast he can draw... and that he takes care of ka-tet.
Oh I almost forgot to mention that quote isn't mine. It's from some dude named Steve... Queen... Kink? I don't know... some random dude.

This. And it seems like this isn't the same trip to the tower that Roland took in the books. Makes it easier to get rid of the racial aspect and tell a new story.
