Spot on. In 34 years I have observed much the same. The sign of a good LEO is when your peers seek you out when they need help the most or when outside agencies request you as their go to guy. In my estimation it's a simple job that requires common sense and a strong sense of right and wrong. The ability to compartmentalize emotions allows you to function in spite of the unpleasant things you may encounter. Admit your mistakes and don't repeat them. It's what I do but not what I am and I believe that has sustained me since I started.
