Just caught up on the friendly vs Dortmund. Bailly looked more raw today than against Wigan. I think he'll progress quickly as he has all the tools but don't think he's quite ready to start from jump. Memphis looked slow up top; he has quick feet but lacks real pace and his stock is dropping rapidly. Valencia struggled on the ball today (moreso than usual); Foz and Darmian will feel they have a good chance to start at that right back spot. Phil Jones will need some more time, hope he can stay healthy. Rojo got his ankles snapped by young Dembele
Shaw looked good while working on his fitness and getting his touch back. Herrera was solid recycling possession and adding players into attack. Rashford put in a good shift. I would like to see Pereira get more minutes; he's only been a late-ish sub in the first two games.
I love these preseason friendlies. Of course, the results are meaningless except they give an insight into the personnel decisions a manager has to make when shaping a squad for the season. I still think we need another CB to really boost us defensively this year.
Alright, carry on.
