As reported by tigrbaseball in another thread, Nick Storz competed in the high school home run derby at Petco Park yesterday. He hit 8 out of a park not normally known for being hitter friendly. His longest blast measured 432 feet.

ETA: He's hit the most in the competition so far, but it isn't over yet. He will compete in the finals tonight during the MLB home run derby.

As reported by JJ27 above, 2016 Infielder Jake Slaughter was named to the Cal Ripken League All-Star Game. He will be on the North squad as they play tomorrow night. Here are the rosters: LINK
On the season, Slaughter has slashed .269/.349/.419. He's got 8 doubles and 2 home runs in 106 plate appearances. He has split time between SS and DH mostly this season. He has one start at 3rd earlier this year and recently played a couple games at second.
The other 2016 player in the summer leagues, Josh Smith, also made his leagues All Star game. Smith will suit up for the West division in the Prospect League All Star game tomorrow night LINK.
Smith has hit .343/.465/.485 in 32 games this season (129 PA). He has 6 doubles, a triple, and two home runs. He's also walked 20 times to only 13 strikeouts and stolen 18 bases in 21 attempts.
