I've always thought that if you lie about this, you should be on the hook for whatever the sentence was that the man received.
You're allowed to literally wreck someone's life with minimal penalty. That is fricked up.

Agreed with one caveat:
The lie must be admitted to or proven with verifiable evidence. There are cases of real sexual misconduct and you don't want people to be scared to report them.
