Example, when a millionaire or some celebrity comes in town and wants to get into Restaurant August or Commanders, would there normally be a few tables blocked off on big weekends in case this happens?
they have to in some way
I've only experienced this once and it was with my wife's uncles
we went to Commanders with no reservations on a Saturday night and of course, no tables, well my wife's uncle's partner (who owns a high end restaurant in Philly) asks to speak to the GM (or whoever) and they introduced themselves and start talking about restaurants and all of a sudden we have a table
so either they bump people or they have some tables set aside for "important" people
