That would really suck. Hopefully someone can convince him otherwise. That amazing pitching class is starting to not look good at all. Who did we get out of it so far? Lange? Seems like all the other promising potential just left and our big stud pitcher last year is like Wild Thing Vaughn decapitating people because he has no control. Has McKay improved in summer league play at all?
Seems like we're missing on a lot of pitchers lately. Poche staying just got more important.

He's improved significantly after his first start.
10.1 IP, 1 ER, 9 K, 7 BB, 8 H, in his last two starts.
Last start was 6 IP with no ER. He's getting better each time out.

From a person very close to the situation. Jake did not like how Mainieri and the training staff have handled his injuries over the last 2 years. Which is why he flew out of state multiple times to get "second opinions" didn't trust LSU or their doctors.
Makes you wonder what this mysterious "non throwing" illness has been.

It just baffles me as to why a great baseball program like LSU never has more than 1 really good pitcher. Teams like Vandy, Florida, Fullerton, and many more consistently have 2 or 3 dominant starting pitchers. What are these other teams doing to get all these big time pitchers to come that we can't seem to figure out?
