Yep...you can put your reservation in earlier than 11 months but he won't submit it till 11 months (to the day) of your arrival.
Go to the website and play with the cost calculator to see the different price options and I do recommend listing a 1st, 2nd and 3rd option. Now, if the resort has the availability but he doesn't have the point to rent (which sometimes happens) then you have to choose to wait to see if he gets the points (and risk the resort becoming full) or go with a 2nd or 3rd option.
