I will take your word for it because that was the biggest concern watching the film is his release isn't quick at all. That maybe because there is no rush and he knows he has the time to make accurate throws. But if it isn't the case he will have issues in the SEC.

That's the reason. You have 4 seconds to throw or it's a "sack." Recruiters don't pay much if any attention to 7 on 7. They want to see your games live or game film.

7 on 7 is good for receivers to catch some balls.

It's not a good indicator for qb's reading coverages either because a lot of coaches create 7 on 7 schemes that they'll never use in a game or they will have defensive guys playing out of position.

I've seen teams put their starting WR's at LB just to win a 7 on 7 tournament
