I think wiki retired off of Bitcoin and became a hermit.
True story: when I was in my early 20's a guy I worked with talked me into a penny stock which ended up as Jaguar Nickle I believe. When we first started with it it was called something else. I had no brokerage account, didn't know shite about investing, and wasn't making a lot of money then as a college student. Gave him some money every few weeks to invest. Wound up with 30k+ shares after a little while. This even younger guy (late teens and a valet) put everything he had into it. Even sold his car since he could take BART (San Francisco) and bought shares. I believe he ended up with somewhere around 500k shares. He lived with his family so I guess he said frick it. I had rent, a girl, tuition, and family to fly home to in NOLA plus I was scared to go all-in .
Yes, you know the end result; the shares went up to $2 at one point. The guy who put the money into his account for me disappeared for a while. I was living in L.A. by this point and someone else I was friends with from the same job calls me and says "did you see your stock" and I said no . I check and I flip out and can't get in touch with guy. He helps me finally get in touch with him and turns out he went to Vegas and blew all of his money. He tells me he did sell my shares though when it hit around $1. He does eventually send me $25k and says he had to pay taxes on it. To this day I and then when I think about the whole situation. At 28 years old I should have had a nice payday of $70k or "if I would've just bought more..." but shite $25k for about $3k was pretty sweet.
Anyway, the other guy supposedly sold some when it hit $1 and some when it was closer to the $2. So in his early 20's he became a near millionaire because of a fricking penny stock and some serious onions. He totally disappeared though and didn't return calls, quit the valet job, and I'd like to think he traveled the world. He possibly became a hermit too
