I know teaming with Spielberg and Lucas has greatly benefited his career but simply put without Williams those movies are not anywhere close to as memorable or as good.

It's true.
Turn the volume off during some of these films and watch them without musical score (chances are you know the dialogue). It's amazing how static some of them seem.
John Williams was especially vital for a filmmaker like Steven Spielberg who relied on childlike imagination and elements of fantasy for so many motion pictures.
