Could be even worse with out of network fees. I suspect they based the $25k goal on that.

Plus there's a denial code for "service/procedure provided as a result of terrorism". There shouldn't be a denial code for terrorism. It violates the entire premise of insurance. I've never seen that denial actually happen and I doubt it will here because it would be PR nightmare, but theoretically it's possible.

Yeah, as I mentioned, the $25k goal is perfect reasonable for medical bills, loss of income, child care, etc. I was just pointing out how some people abuse this kind of thing, but didn't mean to imply that the situation in the OP was an example of that abuse.
