The problem is ignorance. If you believe this type of weapon is either readily available or used in these types of crimes, you're ignorant. Your posting of it here implies that you believe this.
Fully automatic weapons are heavily regulated and almost never used in crimes. Statistically zero. Your odds of getting killed by a legally owned, Class III, fully automatic weapon in the U.S. (unless wielded by a cop, of course) are about the same as getting hit by a meteor and a bolt of lighting at the same time.

By ban do you mean make it federal law to be damn near impossible to own one, because that already exists.
And for those that buy bump stocks it's technically not a single trigger pull.
