Typically things go well until they see the spanish name on my driver's license.

Every time without fail. I've been pulled over and accused of stealing my & my wife's car even though our last names are the same and have the same address.

recently I used a new cut through that was a shorter route to my home - approximately 4-mile stretch with no businesses, homes, lighting etc...

I passed a cop speeding. He made a turn in the middle of the road, and proceeded to pull me over.

I kept my hands on the wheel until he got up to the window and he asked me for my license and registration. Then he proceeded to shine his flashlight directly in my face the entire time he stood there. I gave him the info and he stood there looking at it for a few minutes in silence all the while shining the flashlight in my face.

I asked him if he wouldn't mind moving the light, and he told me to shut the frick up. I asked him what his name and badge number was, and he said, I told you to shut the frick up, if you can read it will be on your ticket!" In my head I was like "WTF?"

He made me sit there a good 20 minutes or more and finally came back up to the car. Staying in character, he kept the flashlight directly in my face the entire time he talked. I started to ask him for his name and badge number again and he tossed everything at me in my car and said "have a good night."

Me - white, driving nice car.
Cop - black, short
Area - per census, 82% Caucasian

I wanted to ask him if it was because I was white, but the dude was already a dick. I did log a complaint as soon as he drove off via telephone, then at the station. Turns out he had multiple complaints, and I never even saw the courtroom. The ticket disappeared.

I have a couple more odd ones like this, but don't want to type a book. I'm not a fan of cops, but not a hater either. I like to think for the most part, they are good people, but the few frick it up for the rest.
