nope, and as a side note they shouldn't

I know a business owner that got burned this way. He fired this girl who turned around and filed all types of complaints against his business.

They were all dismissed except that he couldn't prove that she was given a lunch break because he never had his employees clock-in/out. He didn't have to pay for her lunch, but he was under law mandated to give them one. Well, they awarded her a few thousand dollars because of this, even when other employees went on record saying that she and they all got off for lunch everyday.

You are supposed to have your employees clock in/out for lunch.

We have over 200 hourly employees where I have been working for the last 14 years and not one time have any of them ever clocked in and out for lunch. They are all docked 30 minutes any time they work more than 5 hours in a day. But they are only docked once per shift. If they happen to work a double, they are only docked 30 minutes
