I really don't "get" basketball shoes. They all look so clunky to me. I guess I just can't pull them off idk.

It isn't about "do I like them now". For me they represent my childhood when everyone on the Junior High basketball team got together and said, "We're going to wear Jordans this year." And we (or our parents) all purchased Jordans including the poorer kids. Playing ball wasn't just about being talented at basketball...it was about looking good on the court. 1990 was a great time to be a kid.
I mean, Jordans were so cool that inner city kids were killing other kids to steal their Jordans. I remember we took a class trip to Six Flags in St. Louis. Our school was warned to not wear Jordans to Six Flags.
The Air Jordans 5 simply remind me of my childhood. I'd like to purchase a pair (even used) just for display purposes.
80 years from now it'll all make sense. Those things will be worth a ton of money 80 years from now.
