It's a blue collar refinery town, out on the plains. Hot as balls in summer, and frigid beyond belief in winter. Nothing to block the wind except barb wire fences, so it blows all the time. You are close to some of the world's great scenic wonders, but none of it is in the immediate area, so you will still have to drive a few hours to see anything interesting.

Think Midland-Odessa, with some national parks within driving distance.
