Gatorskins are great for for preventing punctures, but don't get too concerned with going too much higher with PSI. Unless you are racing a short time trial, the ratio of greater efficiency to quicker wear of the tire shoots up once you cross the 110 PSI threshold. When I used to race, I would train at 100 and boost up to 110-115 on race day.

^^this is the correct answer for most tires. I have vredestein clinchers on my time trial bike that are spec'ed to 140psi - I usually do them at around 130 or so
