i think in terms of popularity, manager mode is just dying

online seasons hti it hard and FUT kind of killed it

there is just little benefit to invest in a rehaul b/c it's not going to make much difference in sales

Hopefully they take the obvious scripting out of manager mode this year.

Yeah. They're just surrendering the manager experience to Football Manager.

They'll do something new every now and then to keep non-FUT players around. But I ended up playing a lot more online in 16 than ever before because career mode just felt so stale after several months.

Im a huge FUT fan, so i totally get it, but thats why i brought up the examples from Madden. It seems year after year Madden gets more attention in the development dept but, without looking at numbers, id imagine FIFA is the larger seller. Though i guess Maddens version of FUT isnt the same money maker as FIFAs.

Its not like theyd have to start from scratch. Just copy what madden is doing and change up some details. And if FIFA had a robust career mode again, i dont see how that would effect sales negatively. There is def a big market for offline modes. FUT isnt going to be less popular if manager mode was improved, but it could def move more units to casuals curious about the game and generate some needed goodwill from a a neglected portion of the user base.

The Journey sounds cool and all, but all that development time went into a feature that most players will prob play through once and be done with it.
