The problem with an Incredibles sequel, and Brad Bird has stated this as well, is how do you top Syndrome? He's a wholly original villain (yes they took the powers from Green Lantern but who cares) that had never been done before. He wiped out like 90% of superheroes. How can you beat him? He's among the most effective supervillains in history alongside Ozymandias and Ledger's Joker. And the second film these days has to have the best villain. That's hard to top.

Seriously, this scene is just great. He thinks he murdered Mr. Incredible, he's satisfied for a bit and then I'm sure he gets pissed behind the scenes that his idol was not able to stand up to him, and then its revealed he survives, he probably pisses himself in joy that he idolized the right guy. How can you not love a villain with this much passion?: LINK

I agree with most of what you said but this is just plain silly. While the villain is important in all superhero movies, the second film in a trilogy or series definitely does not necessarily have to have the best villain just because of The Dark Knight.

Obviously, The Underminer needs to be dealt with based on the ending of the first one.
