Ha! My one bedroom, one bath no-refrigerator-included apartment in Burbank scoffs. They are going for about $1500 now.

For the OP, I would choose Seattle. I love to visit Phoenix, but no way I could handle that heat full time. Give me the rain any day.

I met a woman a few months ago that just moved to Scottsdale from L.A. She was so excited how much cheaper housing was here. I think she said her tiny one bedroom apt(forget where)was like $1800. With no on site laundry, no other amenities, no parking, no on site management.
