I love my Hydro Flask pint glasses. Would need more than $20 to chunk at a great American hero. Next up is a Summer Ale by Fremont. Mariners putting on a clinic, 12-0

any New York spots stand out to you as must stops for beer?

I didn't get a chance to hunt, much. The only place in NYC that I was impressed with was Gingerman, by the Empire State Bldg. I didn't get a chance to hit up Rattle and Hum or Blind Tiger, etc. I went to a couple of spots that had one or two decent beers, but didn't have anything worth a trip out of the way.

I was with my family, so I was mainly doing family stuff and I snuck a beer in here and there.

I'm sure Hilt and Bbrou can give better advice than me.

My general feeling is that New York has some excellent breweries, but overall, the city doesn't have enough good breweries. The really good beer seems to be scarce and only available at the top tier taproom. And you pay 9 bucks for a 12oz pour of a top tier IPA. I'm just saying that New York need ten more Other Half/Singlecut type breweries.

Not going to be with family, but this will be my experience. I'll maybe get two stops. Figured Other Half might be one of those if at all possible.

First day back at work was not too bad, but it demanded a happy hour beer.

Kim, is it my imagination or are you drinking more draft beer at taprooms?

I've always preferred draft, because it's usually fresher, but I thought maybe you were evolving that way because the taproom choices are so much better down there, now.

Next up is a Space Needle by Pike. Decent brew, kind of a tourist trap:

Pikes is a tourist trap. I think your best bet in Seattle is to go to a place like Chuck's or other taprooms of the same ilk. If you go to Chuck's, see if they have any Block 15 beers. I know they are big fans and would be the only place in WA that carries them.

Chuck's is on tap for tomorrow, doing a solo explore while the sister is at work. Exploring downtown / Pikes Place Market now and this looked like it had a decent view. Not really.

Block 15, Melvins, Barley Browns, Boneyard, and Bale Breaker are some breweries that I would recommend. You probably won't find any Fremont BA stouts, but if you do, jump on it.

ETA: pFriem, too.

was planning on going to the Chucks in Greenwood and hitting up places on that side of town. Any advantage to Capitol Hill?
