No sir you have it wrong... Once he shot Will Smith in the back and murdered him, he know has to prove it was self defense.
If he said he didn't shot him, then there is the "innocent until proven guilty". The point of him killing Will Smith is not in question so the prosecutor does not have to prove the action that took place.
From outside I have yet to see anything that says he had any justification in shooting a guy in the back and killing him. He now has to prove his life was in danger enough to shoot a man multiple times in the back.
