While I don't agree with your logic (I want to watch LSU win the super at the Box!!!), I will say that the list you have shows the errors/biases of the selection committee. This "committee" shouldn't exist; at least not anymore.
I understand the argument that there's teams that can't really afford to travel and play; so those teams don't have the same opportunity to showcase their talents as the "big" teams. (Personally, I say "tough luck. If you can't afford to play with the big boys then either don't play or play understanding that this is the big boy's show." If that makes me a dick then so be it.)
They've become a lot like the selection of the Heisman - how many times recently has the trophy gone to the popular guy and not the best guy? How many of those winners have gone on to succeed at the next level? (/rant about Heisman)
This "committe" and the NCAA want to spread the host sites around and whatever altruistic reason they claim for doing so is bullshite. It is all about increasing overall attendance and thereby increasing their income. They're doing this at the expense of worthy teams but don't care about them because those teams have already reached the max/near-max of their profitability.
(Just like nerfing the hell out of the bats - so much so that they eventually had to change the ball; and they only changed the ball instead of the bats again because they didn't want to admit that they screwed up with the bats. (/rant about the bats))
