Not a huge college baseball fan here, so this is really more of a question rather than some sort of critique. How sure are we that LSU will get to host a regional?

Obviously there are at least 3 SEC teams ahead of LSU in the host pecking order (Florida, A&M and USC). I suppose you could also argue Ole Miss should be ahead of LSU in that order as well. So for LSU to host, that would mean at least 5 SEC host sites, right? That would be over 1/4th of the tournament field (16 regions). Unlike basketball, baseball seems to be much more of a truly regional approach. For instance, it's not uncommon to see 1 or more "undeserving" regional hosts in the in upper-midwest or, northeast, or northwest simply just due to geography rather than merit. Therefore, is it possible that LSU gets left out of hosting not because they are undeserving, but because they just had the bad luck of being behind 4-5 other SEC teams that are just as deserving?

We will host a regional for sure. If we do well in SEC tourney and a couple of teams shite the bed, we could possibly host a super.
