Today at I/O 2016, Google announced two new messaging and communication apps: Allo, a messaging app which hooks into your phone number, and Duo, a video calling app. You might assume that means Hangouts would be quietly canned (or as quietly as possible, anyway), right? Not so.

HOLY shite Google completely is dropping the ball on this. Just when they get hangouts functional they are cutting support for it. I don't care what Google says why would they power full steam ahead on hangouts when they have 3 other apps that do the same thing. Google shot themselves in the foot on this one. Hangouts was supposed to be the all in one they completely fricked up by chopping it's dick off with messenger and they just fi ally got it working correctly. Now they are going to have 3 fu king apps that does what hangouts does.

How the frick is a normal person supposed to figure out which app to use. I mean shite I'm pretty tech savvy and I was confused as hell when Google kept telling me to use messenger when hangouts does SMS/MMS also.

Google needs to stop chasing the trends and get us an all in one updated Hangouts.

I better still have full integration with my PC or imma lose it. 90% of my texts and phone calls are through Hangouts on my PC.
